The Finnish Sauna is a tradition like no other. Finns who immigrated to the US and Canada in the early 1900's commonly built a sauna before their home. It was where mothers gave birth, business deals were finalized, bodies washed, and minds cleansed. It continues now for Finns who still hold that sauna tradition close. Many remember the smoke saunas of their youth, and more than one family sauna burned to the ground only to be rebuilt (sometimes more than once).
